So let me tell you how to get rid of these pests, what causes them, and how to prevent it from happening again.
I’ll also cover some frequently asked questions about these gnats and give you some basic information about them and their lives. Thankfully, you’ll find it isn’t that hard to rid yourself of them and rather quick.
Removing Mold From Fabric
If your home has been flooded and mold and bacteria have been left to grow for many days, it may be impossible to salvage fabric items. However, if mildew has developed due to dampness and is caught early, it can easily be removed from most fabrics.
Begin by taking the items outside to brush away as much surface mold as possible and to prevent spreading the mold spores inside your home. If the fabric is washable, use the hottest water recommended on the care label and add a disinfectant. If stains remain, create a solution of oxygen bleach and water and allow the clothes to soak for at least eight hours. Oxygen bleach can be used safely on any washable fabric.
For fabrics that are dry clean only, brush away the mildew outside and then head to a professional cleaner. Identify and point out the stains most fabrics can be successfully restored.

Identifying Fungus Gnat Damage In House Plants
Fungus gnat damage closely resembles root rot, including yellowing or dropping leaves, stunted plant growth, and wilting. If roots are extremely damaged, the plant will die.
Fungus gnats lay eggs in the soil. Once hatched and in the larvae stage, fungus gnats then feed on the plant roots below the surface, making it difficult to identify them before damage occurs if adult gnats are not spotted around the plants surface first.
How To Use A Dehumidifier:
Different dehumidifiers have different capacities, so factor in the size and humidity of your room before you choose one.
Set up the dehumidifier in the dampest area of the house, like the bathroom or the basement
Consult your chosen dehumidifierâs manual for specific instructions
Set the dehumidifier with your ideal humidity level: this should be between 40% and 60%.
Be aware that the first few cycles that your dehumidifier goes through will be removing more humidity than later cycles: at first, it will be removing excess water that has built up over a certain period of humidity, whereas once it is running regularly it will be collecting lighter amounts of water to maintain an ideal humidity level

How To Get Rid Of Mold In Walls
If the wall is made from a non-porous surface, such as finished wood or stone, it must be thoroughly dried. A dehumidifier, proper ventilation or a wet vacuum can be used. Then, a damp wipe down of the area should remove most of the mold. Cleaning products designed for mold removal are helpful, however it is not necessary to bleach moldy areas or use other biocides. If the wall is made from a porous material such as gypsum drywall, wallpaper or unfinished wood, it is not possible to remove all of the mold from the tiny nooks and holes in the wall. The affected section of the wall must be cut out and replaced. This can be very expensive. However, the mold will almost certainly come back otherwise.
Finish the mold removal by using a vacuum with a HEPA filter. A non-HEPA vacuum may not contain the mold spores and can actually spread them into the air. Vacuum the entire area and surrounding areas, even if no mold is visible.
Do not just paint or caulk over mold without removing it. According to the EPA, this will cause the paint to flake and peel, and when the paint comes off, you will still have mold on the wall.
