  • have had a skin infection in the past

How Do I Use It

Before applying potassium permanganate to your skin, its important to dilute it with water. Most medical uses require a dilution of 1 part to 10 when using a 0.1% potassium permanganate solution.

To achieve an appropriate dilution using potassium permanganate 0.1% solution, combine 1 part potassium permanganate with 10 parts hot water. Undiluted potassium permanganate has a striking purple color, but a diluted solution should be pink.

Potassium permanganate must be diluted since undiluted solution may cause burns. Even with dilution it may irritate the skin, and with repeated use may still cause burns.

Potassium permanganate also comes in 400-milligram tablets. To utilize the tablets in a bath soak, dissolve 1 tablet in 4 liters of hot water before pouring into the bath. The bath soak may be repeated twice daily for two days.

Here are some guidelines on how to use potassium permanganate for specific conditions:

Depending on your condition, your doctor might instruct you to create a stronger solution with a dilution of 1 part in 7,000. To achieve this, mix 1 part potassium permanganate with 7 parts hot water. This will create a slightly darker pink liquid.

Alternative And Complementary Therapies

Applying over-the-counter dandruff shampoos to the skin for about 10 minutes a day while in the shower can be a useful home remedy. Ask your doctor if this might help you.

Other home remedies sometimes suggested include honey, olive oil, and beeswax. Ask your doctor or dermatologist before trying any of them.

In one small study, an application of equal parts honey, olive oil, and beeswax helped a majority of patients. They applied the mixture three times a day for about a month.

Causes Of Fungal Skin Infections

There are many types of fungi that can cause skin infections. However, there are some common triggers that tend to result in an overgrowth of fungus on the skin. These include:

  • Weak immune system. The appearance of skin fungus indicates that your defenses are low because the body cant fight them.
  • Contagion. A common example is the showers at gyms or swimming pools. The fungus is on the damp floor, and from there enters and settles between the toes.
  • Lack of hygiene and excess damp. These conditions increase the likelihood of colonization by different kinds of fungi. After washing, its important to dry your skin well between your toes and in all folds and creases of your body.
  • Also, some people sweat more than others. This creates an ideal environment for these microorganisms to proliferate.
  • Excessive sebaceous secretions.
  • Poor diet and low vitamin intake. Not eating adequately makes the defenses drop. This makes it difficult to cleanse toxins.
  • Stress. Its widely known that stress lowers our defenses and, as weve mentioned, this makes it easier for fungi to reproduce.

Is Apple Cider Vinegar A Real Remedy For Fungal Infections

Everything You Need to Know About Fungal Infections ...

Research confirms that ingredients found in apple cider vinegar have some antimycotic and antimicrobial properties.

On the other hand, there are no studies proving that apple cider vinegar is an effective remedy for fungal infections.

What is more, use of apple cider vinegar is associated with some side effects.

If I were you, I would always consult a doctor and ask him for proper medical treatment of your mycosis or yeast infection.

And if you want to add apple cider vinegar to your fungal infection remedy arsenal, ask your doctor for approval first.

Probably the best thing you can do is just add some apple cider vinegar to your diet. Sprinkle some diluted ACV over your salad or meat before you eat it.
